Providing a place for Christian creatives and people in ministry to retreat and be restored in a contemplative setting.
In the book Hind’s Feet on High Places, the crippled Much Afraid is continuously beaten down by her relatives who tell her how little she is worth or that she can't possibly do the things the Good Shepherd is inviting her to do. It is only in time spent with the Good Shepherd that she gains the strength to climb into the high places he is asking her to go.
Christian rest is thought of as inactivity, but in it are the activities of healing, restoration, and rejuvenation. So important was rest to God himself, that He commanded us to observe the Sabbath as Holy. There is purpose in this kind of rest.
We, at the Copper Cabin Company, strive to be a place where time is slowed enough to allow God to pour a little more of himself into a crippled heart, beaten down by the world, so that it can reach the high places of God. Shelter, shade, a warm fireplace, a set table, a walk in the woods, or a ready ear: all of these are meant to give the child of God strength for the climb.
Juan and Melodee DeVevo have been touring with the band Casting Crowns for 20 years. Their unique lives have connected them with musicians, church staff, and entertainers. That connection has given them a heart for making a place of restoration for God's ministers that have come to a place of need and are searching to be filled again.
We partner with The Becoming Academy. The curriculum and its founder, Kerry Hasenbalg, have been, and continue to be, an inspiration for our spiritual growth, and reaching people to help them do the same.
Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and fund our mission.
